When dealing with reactivity and fear aggression
Often we find ourselves in this vicious circle when we get tensed up, we are alerting the Dog that we are concerned, by us showing that we are concerned the Dog becomes concerned as well. This can manifest into reactive behaviour fear, aggression or hyperactiveity in your dog.
What we’re telling the dog is that it is something to be worried about but what we’re doing naturally is we suddenly go tight on the lead because we know what’s going to happen. And it’s really easy to pay for people to say oh just don’t do that you can’t stop, this sort of reaction in yourself it’s a learn behaviour. And this is when you need help and somebody showing you how to get out of that vicious circle and somebody that can actually show you results. I always say if I cannot get the behaviour then I cannot expect you to get the behaviour. It’s all well and good, just giving you instructions but they’re not showing you how to react and interact with your dog.
With training these behaviours out of DOG is immaterial how it’s occurred when dealing with these behaviours it’s about re-introducing them at a pace they can cope with but also more importantly it’s about you feeling confident, i’m working with you just as much as I’m working with the dog. in most cases you would need a maximum of two sessions.
