Puppy Training

Puppy Training

The first 16 weeks of a dog’s life are very important – at this stage puppies are like little sponges for learning. There are various training options available and your puppy can start attending one-to-one classes after its first inoculation.

What’s Covered in your One-to-One Session

Taking advantage of a private, one-to-one class with your dog means that we can cover all of the following in two 1½ hour sessions. We include what is most important to you and can do this at your home in the Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge or Maidstone areas, or at our centrally located Training Centre.

All training uses only kind, reward-based methods.

In addition, the training can be customised to meet the specific needs of you, your family and your dog. This means you get the maximum value in the shortest period of time.

All Basic Commands:

  • Sit
  • Lay-down
  • Stay
  • Go to bed
  • Leave
  • Walking nicely on a lead
  • Coming when called
  • Chewing
  • Mouthing
  • Toilet training
  • Crate training / safe place
  • Toy relevance versus your belongings
  • Most important – how they learn
  • Unwanted behaviours
  • Equipment advice
  • And so much more

Importantly, we also show how your dog communicates using practical examples.

All training uses only kind, reward-based methods.

Why Choose One-to-One Training?

  • Puppies don’t cope in big groups and get sensory overload very easily.
  • Large group sessions with many puppies may appear less expensive; with our one-to-one sessions, puppies can learn what might take others weeks or even months to achieve. This gives you a far more cost effective service.
  • Our private sessions also mean that we can involve several members of the family in the training.
  • All puppies are unique, one size never fits all. All dogs and owners have different requirements so our approach is responsive to your individual needs.
  • All our training includes written information outlining what has been covered in the session, together with instructions explaining how to carry on the training techniques at home.
  • At the end of the session, time is always given to any questions.

Your Step-by-Step Dog Training Guide

Let us take you through our straightforward guide on the steps needed to train your dog.

Puppy Advanced Training

Our advanced course is for puppies that have been through a beginner One-to-One Puppy Training programme and are responding happily to all commands. They are now ready to learn what is required of them out of the home environment. This includes coming when called, regardless of what they are doing, and learning to remain under your control, whatever the distractions. Our Advanced Puppy Training gives you everything you require to keep your puppy under control when out and about.

Socialisation Training Course

Socialisation is all about getting your puppy used to everyday life, not just playing with other dogs.
